AlloyDB Omni, using the AlloyDB Omni Kubernetes Operator, which is a Kubernetes API extension provided by Google that enables users to deploy and manage AlloyDB Omni, a PostgreSQL-compatible database service, in various Kubernetes environments. It provides containerization benefits, high availability, and scalability. It also supports multi-cloud and on-premise deployments for flexible infrastructure management.
I collaberated with other team members working on AlloyDB advance backup features: Backup from HA Standby and Backup from DR Secondary, with using the pgBackRest to enhance security by architecting custom protocols.
The project enhanced enterprise-grade data protection and disaster recovery capabilities by provding users feasibilities to take the backup from a non-primary instance even from a different zone. It enabled the geographical redundancy for database systems. Positioned the AlloyDB Omni more competitively in market by offering these advanced backup functionalities.
I was also fortunate to receive the return offer from Google Cloud!
